I do not take horses in as I work more with the human body language part with owners and their horses and I actually prefer to work with owners and their horses simultaneously. It is the "non-verbal kindred connection" that I enlighten clients with. Our bodies tell a story and our horses tell the same one back. It becomes a "mirror affect." Our communications becomes something in common! I try to do to help horses with human troubles If you have read one of my earliest previous experiences with an incredible owner and horse named Tango, you will understand what "mirroring" is. It all stems from our most prominent way of communication, our body. Tango told me the story by "mirroring" her owners story.
I do not teach a discipline, as that is up to the owner wants and needs and the horse's capabilities, but I do teach confidence and body language portrayal and "mirroring." It is hard to do at first but a constant reminder to yourself in the little things I will show you how to do and your friends how to do, will surely make you more aware and I even hope to actually give you a few "aha" moments.
It is not a scientific theory, it does not take a doctorate degree to teach others and it certainly does not have to cost $$$ to get there. We have been taught to death on how to read a horses body language.....(tail swishing, ears back, rump under the legs, a rear leg ready for action.......etc.) But yet we continue, to ever mindfully, ignore our body language and what we communicate. A deep breath, shoulders back and an inner smile go a long way...........tried, tested and true is my motto!! But don't be fooled, it is hard work as I still have to remind myself daily..............lol! Life has a tendancy to suck us into it's throes.
I teach humans to communicate in a way that the horse understands. Remember, there is no improper or proper behaviour in a horse. He just is. He is living in today, not yesterday, not tomorrow, but right here right now. There is, though, a subconscious language from us that is like a conversation with the horse. This conversation guides a horse to do or not to do what we want. We don't even know we are doing it and then when we don't get the result we want, the horse is blamed and off he goes to get trained again. I explain it like this. The energy we carry within us is like having a telephone wire hooked directly into your horses brain, telling him how to act or react, move away or move closer, be confused or be right there with you and connected. Fear is the number one reason that a herbivore (horse) will disconnect with a carnivore (humans). 99% of the time, in a purely subconscious subtle way, the horse is receiving mixed messages. Wouldn't it be nice to just know a few things we do wrong everyday and avoid them so that we can have that "Non-verbal kindred connection" ?? It can be done and I can show you how.
For instance fear is actually a good thing to have in our life as it drives us through decisions, and very much puts us feeling like we are in the present. Ever notice when you have had a close call and a rush of adreneline courses through your body that you instantly feel alive? Without it we would not even take little risks, or even know it is a risk for that matter. Unfortunately, as you may have read from my Mother's story, it most times prevents us from moving forward. And this is where i can help. Because your horse knows this secret and will tell you the story truthfully because he is brutally honest. He wants you to move forward, so that he can enjoy every minute with you. He knows no other way.
So, call it whispering, natural horsemanship or whatever you want to call it. I call it "Non-verbal" kindred connection' "Look into the soul of your horse's eyes and see it for what it is. It is there and when your horse understands this "Non-verbal kindred connection" you have with hime, he will know that you see him for who he is and he will now see you for who you are and want to continue to be. Living in the present!!
